What does running and leadership have to do with each other? From skill building to proper preparation, there are many connections! This bi-weekly experience will bridge those connections as we talk about both running and leadership.
From the person who has never run a day in their life to the person training for their 10th marathon, all are welcome and will find this experience useful. We will create customized training plans, hear from experienced runners, encourage and motivate one another through group runs and shared successes and challenges, and learn about some of finer points in running. We will all set a goal of running in a race of your own choice this spring and then work to achieve that together. Also, we will set up a time to run together, fast, slow, short and far.
Becoming an effective leader takes some intentional effort. We will jump in together and look at ways we all can improve our leadership. We will look at communication, group dynamics, leadership style, and more. At the end of the spring semester the class will take on the leadership of planning a 5k run with proceeds going to a local charity.
The experience is put on by Residential Life and a cost free opportunity.
Two class sessions are available:
Tuesdays 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. meeting: 1/20, 2/3, 2/17, 3/3, 3/17, 3/21, and 4/14
Fridays 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. meeting: 1/23, 2/6, 2/20, 3/6, 3/20, 4/3, and 4/17
